The global search field may be available in the upper right corner of the screen, if you system is configured for this feature. The global search field enables you to quickly perform a global search without first accessing the Global Search screen.
The global search field works in conjunction with the Global Search screen, by using the search options selected. The search options determine the types of records you want to search for by selecting the appropriate Search On options: Profile (people and functions), On-Call, and Directory. You can choose only one option or any combination of them.
The search criteria is entered in the in global search field. Any record that contains the search string is returned. Depending on the search options selected in the Global Search screen, profile, directory, and on-call group records may be returned. The search results are displayed in the Global Search screen.
1. Access Smart Web. The global search field is in the upper right corner of the screen.
2. Enter the search string in the field. At least three characters must be entered.
3. Click the search icon next to the field. The search results are automatically displayed in the Global Search screen.
