Sending a Numeric Page

The Numeric Paging screen displays when at least one recipient can only receive a numeric page. Only numbers and characters from the allowed set of characters can be entered. The allowed set of characters is determined for the pager type in Smart Center.

1.  When sending a numeric page, the Compose a Message screen for a page displays.

2.  In the Compose and send your message field, enter the text of the message. The number of characters you are allowed to enter in this field displays in the Maximum Characters Allowed field. As you type the message, the number of characters you can enter displays in the Remaining Characters field.

The type of message that will be sent displays in the Messaging Type field. The option for a numeric page is NUMERIC. If the Messaging Type field entry is NUMERIC only characters from the following set can be entered: 0123456789#*-. An error message displays if any characters not in the allowed set are entered. A numeric pager typically cannot receive any other characters.

3.  Click the Send Message button to send the page and close the Compose a Message window. A confirmation dialog displays.

NOTE: Your system may be configured to display a different message than the default message shown below, or configured so that a confirmation dialog does not display at all.

4.  Click the OK button to close the confirmation dialog.
