Receiving a Paging Down or Paging Delay Message

Smart Web may be configured to display a message when the paging system is down and not available or that there will be a delay in sending a page. The message displays when the operator attempts to send a page from Smart Web.

This feature is useful when a system administrator is aware that there may be a paging problem. The paging message that displays is defined in Smart Center and displays for a specified period of time. For example, if you know the paging system will be down from 2:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m., you can set up a paging down message to display only during that time period.

Normally, the message states whether the paging system is down or delayed.

Paging Down

A sample paging down message displays below. When a paging down message displays, the user is not allowed to enter a page message. A page cannot be sent.

Paging Delayed

A sample paging delayed message displays below. When a paging delay message displays, the user can enter a page message. A page is put in the paging queue and remains there until the page is sent.
