A user can place a call to a person or function using the Call Assistant application, which is represented by the phone icon. The phone icon displays next to the person’s name if Call Assistant is installed on the operator’s PC Client.
NOTE: The Call Assistant application must be purchased separately. Please contact your Spok representative for information about purchasing this feature.
The steps below explain how to use Call Assistant to place a phone call. For more information about setting up Call Assistant, please refer to Using the Call Assistant Application.
1. Click on the phone icon next to the individual’s name.
2. If you have not used the phone dialer before, the Call Assistant screen displays. This is a registration screen that displays the first time the phone dialer is used. If you have already registered your extension, this screen does not display.
a. Enter your phone extension in the field.
b. Click the Submit button. A confirmation screen displays. The screen shows the phone number that will be dialed, and your extension number.
3. Click the Dial button to call the phone number shown. The system automatically makes the call from your extension.
